The Ocean Aero Submaran represents the next generation in unmanned ocean systems – the creation of autonomous, highly persistent, energy scavenging, wind/electric unmanned vessels packaged in a small, man-portable configuration. “Submaran” – a new class of Unmanned Underwater, Surface Vessel (UUSV).
i7 Engineering's engineers are working with the Ocean Aero team to develop the “game changing” ruggedized surface/sub-surface vessel's autonomous robotic, electrical and communications systems, powered by wind and solar energy, capable of months at sea that can be deployed from land, sea or air. It is configurable with a wide variety of sensor and observational systems to provide essential information to science, academic, commercial and government organizations. Using only the power of the wind and sun, the vessels will help the world better understand our oceans.
The demand for coastal and open-ocean observation, research and Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (referred to as “ISR”) is increasing throughout the world. The constant need of information in real time of what is occurring on or below the ocean surface has never been more important, particularly in the areas of scientific research, security and law enforcement, the oil and gas industry, and national defense. Finding solutions to these areas is essential in an ever-changing world where our oceans demand so much attention.
